FromMarseille
Take the A51 freeway towards Gap as far as the Saulce toll booth, then towards Embrun / Guillestre then Vars.
FromParis
Take the A6 freeway to Lyon, then the A43 to Grenoble. Then head for Briançon via the Col du Lautaret or Gap via the Col Bayard, then Embrun / Guillestre and Vars.

For overnight trips between Austerlitz station and Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station. Daily shuttle bus connections are available for a fee.
TGV
From the TGV stations at Marseille / Saint Charles and Aix-en-Provence, take the shuttle or TER to the Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station to reach the resort.
From the Oulx TGV station in Italy, the Neige Express shuttle brings you directly to Vars at certain times of the season.
TER
From all over France to Mont-Dauphin / Guillestre station, 15 km from the resort. There are daily shuttle bus connections to the resort for a fee.

- Can I take a bus (neige express) from OULX this winter 24/25?
The Neige Express service to and from OULX will not be operational this winter 2024-2025.
- I want the fastest route from Paris by public transport.
This will be the Paris-Aix TGV journey, followed by the direct Aix TGV-Vars bus link with Neige Express.
Please check the dates of the Aix-Vars shuttle service, which runs only on certain dates. - I don't want to spend all day in transport.
Opt for the train or night bus (Neige Express).
From Paris, leave in the early evening to arrive just before the lifts open! - I'm coming with my 3 small children from Aix. What's the easiest way to get to Vars without a car?
