The Vars resort has completed its 5-year multiannual plan from 2019, marked by the creation of the telemix, 2 snowmats and 3 detachable 6-seater chairlifts: Bois Noir chairlift, Vars Speed Master chairlift and La Mayt chairlift. Last winter saw the inauguration of the 2 new fixed-grip 4-seater chairlifts in the Peynier ski area.
A successful gamble for Vars, with more skiing and less time spent on the lifts.

Last February, 2 new fixed-grip 4-seater chairlifts replaced Peynier’s old 2-seater chairlift. These 2 new, modern lifts link the Peynier and Les Claux sectors.
With a common departure point for both new chairlifts, the Les Plans chairlift serves as a link to the Les Claux slope and the main snow front, while the Peynier chairlift provides access to the summit of the same name, the resort’s flagship “ski-forêt” sector.

These new lifts have been accompanied by the creation of new runs accessible to all ski levels: byebye the frustration for beginners of staying at the bottom of the resort to ski on easy runs.
The Vars resort is developing an easy itinerary with a series of 3 green runs from the top of the Mayt chairlift, freshly inaugurated in winter 2023, to the Vars les Claux snow front.
In all, almost 7km of green runs from the peaks, where the views are breathtaking, to the bottom of the resort, for a vertical drop of 545m.
Beginners can enjoy a series of blue runs at an altitude of over 2000m! Starting out fromChabrières, La Mayt or Peyrol, you can let yourself be guided along gentle slopes and enjoy a “big blue” experience, taking in kilometers of slopes while admiring panoramic views. An unrivalled opportunity for unlimited pleasure on the snow-covered peaks of Vars!
On the Sainte-Marie side, the 2 blue runs of Le Vallon and Le Grand Vallon offer a real wilderness interlude in a day’s skiing: calm, silence, forest and alpine farms accompany skiers in search of peaceful gliding over 8.6km for 895m of vertical drop, with a finish in the village of Sainte-Marie.
