World Champions 2025

And 4 for Simon Billy

He didn’t give up. Simon Billy retained his title on “his” home track. The Frenchman, already three-time world champion, outclassed his rivals in the final run after a mixed season. Finishing 3rd this year on the World Cup circuit that saw his rival Simone Origone take the Globe de Cristal just a week ago, Simon Billy answered the call of these high-speed World Championships.

The world’s fastest skier (world record at 255km/h in 2023) literally lives for his sport and has adrenalin in his blood. The faster he goes, the better he performs. His objective for 2025 was clear: to keep his gold medal around his neck, and he did just that with a magnificent speed of 229.13 km/h in the final.

Valentina Greggio first ever

In the women’s category, Italy’s Valentina GREGGIO unsurprisingly made history once again, winning the world title in the discipline for the 5th time in her career with a speed of 225.73 km/h.

Thanks to impeccable technique and unfailing determination, the Italian rocket never wavered, and the result was clear to see: a gap of over 7 km/h over her runner-up, leaving no chance of victory for her rivals who were so impressed by her mastery.

Valentina Greggio retains her title and achieves the double this year, one week after winning her 7th Globe de Cristal on the World Cup circuit.

French prodigies win world junior speed ski championships

The world championship for junior klists, which took place this Friday, March 21, 2025, was marked by the victories of two French youngsters. On the women’s side, 20-year-old Pauline Sabatut, from the Pyrenees, secured her victory with a run at 170.51 kph. For her, it was a fine end-of-season achievement, but above all the culmination of several years’ training, combining physical preparation, mental work and video analysis of her performances. Having skied at speed since the age of 13, she sees this title as a crowning achievement and a further motivation to move up to the S1 category, while retaining the pleasure of skiing.

On the men’s side, Enzo Vita, a 17-year-old Risoulin novice in the world of speed skiing, struggled to achieve his feat, but has no intention of stopping there. Determined, he intends to return next season to defend his title and continue his progress.
