Kid's Slopestyle event

Saturday, March 15th

A fine competition despite the weather

This Saturday, March 15, the Kid’s Slopestyle event took place in milder conditions than expected. Despite a few snowfalls, the riders were able to express themselves fully thanks to the work of the shapers, who ensured that the Vars snowpark was in excellent condition, guaranteeing fair conditions for all participants.

Some sixty riders in the running

Some sixty young snowboarders, from Microbes to Benjamins, competed on the blue line of the Varspark. Their course comprised two jumps and two rails, where they had to perform their best tricks over the whole run. The judges assessed their performances according to several criteria: execution, amplitude and variety, highlighting the need for great versatility, essential in slopestyle.

Outstanding performances

In the Poussins category, Matias Gou Oses shone with his ease and mastery of the rails, a key factor in his victory. He was closely followed by local Leho Garandel, from Club des Sports de Risoul, who also put in a very good run. In the Poussine category, Charlie Berriex dominated the competition with perfectly executed 360°s in both directions, securing her victory. Behind her, FrankieChard and Lisa Pirolli completed the podium with fine performances.

In the Benjamins category, Tan Sinahé unsurprisingly became French champion with a technical and controlled run, followed by Sacha Nirani in second place and Gabin Grosdidier.
In the Benjamines, all eyes were on Minka Zartarian, reigning French champion. Despite a fall that prevented her from defending her title, the competition remained open and exciting. Aurélia Liegard, Léonie Marguenot and Alice Experton seized their chance and climbed onto the podium after superb performances.

Women's Slopestyle event

Sunday, March 16

A fine day of competition despite a setback in the final

On the second day of the French Freestyle Snowboard Championships, the Minimes, Cadets, Juniors and Seniors categories competed in the Slopestyle event.

The finals were disrupted by thick clouds, reducing visibility. Due to these conditions, the Men’s final could not take place and has been postponed to Monday March 17, 2025.

Women’s slopestyle: an exceptional podium

Despite this setback for the men, the women’s competition put on a top-class show, highlighting some impressive performances.

At just 15 years of age, Aono Pordié Okaniwa became French Champion, dazzling judges and audience alike with her incredible ease on the black line. Her run, marked by an impressive technical combination, was executed with remarkable fluidity and grabs of great amplitude. Anouk Tronchet came second with a very solid run. Herry Meije rounded off the podium with her first-ever back switch 540, a technically demanding figure in which she goes backwards before completing a turn and a half.

Big Air and Slopestyle event

A look back at the Big Air finals

This Monday, March 17, 2025, saw the finals of the French Snowboard Big Air Championships for Seniors and Kids. Riders set off with the aim of impressing the judges by performing their best tricks before landing in a controlled manner.

In the Minimes to Seniors category, the competition took place on the third jump of the Slopestyle course, an impressive 18-meter kicker. Among the younger riders, the competition was played out on the first jump of the blue line, a kicker of 5 to 6 meters. As with the older riders, each rider had three attempts, with the two best jumps retained, and the obligation to turn in both directions.
